FAQs

What happens at my first appointment?

At the start of your first appointment there will be a consultation which is private and confidential, with plenty of time to ask any questions that may be concerning you.

We'll discuss what you need from your treatment, what therapy is most appropriate for you, and also what you would like to achieve by the end of your session.

If your choice is massage, I'll ask you to remove as much clothing as you feel comfortable with, while I leave you in private to change and get comfortable on the couch.

You'll be covered with a large sheet which is moved to reveal the area being massaged. Client modesty is observed at all times.

It's advisable not to consume a large meal in the 2 hours before your session.

What happens after my treatment?

I'll leave you alone for a few minutes so that you can 'come back' slowly and then get dressed.

We can then compare how you felt before and after your treatment. We'll also discuss aftercare which will help maintain any changes that may have occurred.

We can discuss consecutive treatments to either work further with an ongoing issue or to maintain well-being.

It's advisable to drink plenty of water to help flush away toxins that have been released into the circulation during the massage.

Can I still have a treatment if I have a medical condition?

There are a few medical conditions where treatment is not advisable or may need to be discussed with your GP first.

Be assured that treatments are tailormade taking into consideration any issues you may have. If you are unsure please call me prior to your treatment.

What happens if I am unable to attend my appointment?

Please give as much notice as possible if you need to cancel an appointment, as a late cancellation fee may be charged.

However, if you are unwell or have a temperature on the day of your appointment, please phone to rebook.

Am I too old for a treatment?

A simple answer - NO!

I hope that I have answered many of your questions and allayed a few fears along the way, but if you do have any further questions, either practical or medical, please don't hesitate to contact me.
